Amanda and Briar’s Autumn Wedding at Strickland Hollow Farm

October 1st, 2022, we are fully immersed in the magic of autumn. The air is crisp, carrying the distinct aroma of fallen leaves. It’s a time when nature’s palette transforms, painting the world in hues of gold, orange, and red. The perfect Autumn day for Amanda and Briar’s wedding at Strickland Hollow Farm in Meridale, New York.

Embracing the Magic of Autumn

The picturesque views of the countryside provide a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and reception, allowing our newlyweds and guests to enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons at the farm. The farm was built in the 1800s and is nestled in the heart of the great western Catskill Mountains. The barn at Strickland Hollow Farm is a stunning venue for their intimate party of 76.

A Toast to Love

Following a beautiful ceremony in the barn, guests made their way to the cocktail hour. They enjoyed our open bar experience with cocktails like our Burnt Peach Rum Mule, and Burnt Grapefruit Tequila Sunrise. Along with the cocktails, guests savored three passed snacks including; Pimento Stuffed Shishito Peppers with Coal Roasted turnips, pork belly with Tomato romesco, and finally, charred nectarines with black garlic and chili.

Capturing Autumn’s Charm

The natural beauty of the barn is complemented by thoughtfully curated autumn decor, incorporating seasonal elements that evoke feelings of comfort and nostalgia. In the center of each table, a stunning arrangement of wildflowers by Miriam Bloom Designs takes center stage. Rich shades of deep red, burnt orange, and  golden yellow dance harmoniously together, reflecting the colors of the surrounding fall foliage. Sunflowers, dahlias, mums, and asters are carefully arranged in an organic manner, as if freshly gathered from a nearby field. Among the wildflowers are elegant candlesticks, the soft glow of the candles casts a warm and inviting light on each place setting.

Savoring the Harvest

The moment had come for an unforgettable buffet-style dinner service. To begin, we present our Charred Peaches paired with creamy Cow’s Milk Burrata, drizzled with Brown Butter and infused with Charred Pepper Honey and lemon balm. We highlighted flavors of late summer with our Late Season Tomatoes combined with the smokiness of Burnt Scallions. Complemented by Charred Onion Vinegar and notes of Aleppo Basil, making it a perfect tribute to the season. We put a twist on the classic Caesar salad with our Slow Roasted Charred Radicchio Caesar Salad. Enjoy the slight bitterness of charred radicchio paired with the delightful crunch of Garlic Breadcrumbs. Rich Raw Sheep’s Milk Cheese adds depth, while zesty Lemon brings a burst of freshness For entrees, the coal roasted sea trout, and Slow Roasted Dairy Cow Strip Loin, with Charred Corn Chimichurri. The strip loin is sourced from a local farm 45 minutes away from our headquarters. Seasonal sides, like our Grilled Summer Squash and Grilled Broccoli Rabe complemented each entree.
