A Late Summer Love Story
Thursday, September 8th, 2022 was a sunny late-summer day. One can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia during this time of year. The days may be getting shorter, but the temperatures remain pleasantly warm, creating the perfect balance for Giselle and EJ’s wedding day.
A Venue With a View
The wedding was hosted at Strong Rope Brewery: Red Hook, located in Brooklyn, New York. Their flagship brewery offers unparalleled views of New York Harbor and is known for its comfortable and family-friendly atmosphere. Set against the backdrop of New York Harbor and the iconic Statue of Liberty, Strong Rope Brewery offers unparalleled views that added an enchanting touch of beauty and uniqueness to their special day.
A Toast to Love: Raising Glasses to Giselle and EJ
Guests arrived at 5:30 in the evening for a cocktail hour on the waterfront patio where they were greeted with their choice of two mocktails; Burnt Plum Sumac Sparkling Lemonade or Grilled Peach Chili Honey Sun Tea. Cocktail hour also included our raw bar add-on where guests enjoyed NYS Oysters, Cold Smoked Shrimp, Alaskan King Crab, and Razor Clam Ceviche.
Blossoms and Bliss
Guests then moved into the Taproom at dusk to enjoy their 3-course dinner. As the guests took their seats at the two long dining tables they were greeted by the natural beauty and modern charm of the table setting. At the center of each table was a mesmerizing display of wildflowers, thoughtfully crafted by the skilled hands of Brownstone Botanicals.
A Harvest Feast Beneath the Sunset Sky
The three course meal was served just as the sunset over the Hudson River, providing the Taproom with a nice golden hour glow. Guests were served buffet style, beginning with charred plums over raw cow’s milk burrata, topped with brown Butter, Charred Pepper Honey and Pistachio.Giselle and EJ chose our bounty package, a harvest table feast that included mains such as Coal Roasted Sea Trout, and Whole Grilled Chicken. Mains were paired with a variety of Seasonal sides such as Grilled summer squash, and an heirloom tomato salad. The star of the entree was the Achiote Sofrito Roasted Pig paired with a Charred Onion Salad.
The evening ended with Peaches over Corn Cake, topped with Raw Sheep’s Milk Cheese, Chili Honey, and Lemon Balm for Dessert.
