Love Blooms in Summer
August 27th, 2022 – a date that captures the essence of summer’s allure, a time when nature flourishes in its prime and love takes center stage in all its grandeur. It’s a season of sun-soaked warmth, abundant growth, and blessings – the very canvas against which Samantha and Erik painted their wedding tale at the captivating Taconic Ridge Farm. The journey of the day commenced with a truly beautiful open-air ceremony, set against the backdrop of rolling hills and the rustic charm of farm pastures.
A Toast to Love
Following the ceremony, guests proceeded to the cocktail hour held on the grass near the reception area. Here, they enjoyed a welcome cocktail, our signature Grilled Plum & Sumac Sparkling lemonade. As well as a few passed snacks, including Coal Roasted Summer Beans, with Burnt Onion Romesco, and Horseradish, Smoked Eggplant, with Mole, and Fennel Pollen.
Sam and Erik also added our charcuterie package to their cocktail hour. Guests savored An Assortment of Locally Sourced and House Cured Meats ,Hard & Soft Local Cheeses, Local Sourdough Breads, Charred & Marinated Vegetables, and our signature WFF Smoked Olives.
Flavors of Late Summer
As cocktail hour came to a close, guests were invited under the sail tent to take their seats and it was time for an unforgettable meal, buffet style. The first course began with Charred Peaches paired with creamy Cow’s Milk Burrata, topped with a Brown Butter crumble. We highlighted flavors of late summer with our Late Season Tomatoes combined with the smokiness of Burnt Scallions, complemented by Charred Onion Vinegar and notes of Aleppo Basil. For entrees, the coal roasted sea trout, and Slow Roasted Dairy Cow Strip Loin, with Charred Corn Chimichurri. The strip loin is sourced from a local farm 45 minutes away from our headquarters. Seasonal sides, like our Grilled Summer Squash complemented each entrée.
A Sweet Farewell
The meal concluded with a sweet ending consisting of coal-roasted peaches with condensed milk cream, over corn cake, drizzled with burnt honey. Also, Charred cherries in brown butter cream with spiced chocolate cake, pepper honey, and mint.
Warmest congratulations, Samantha and Erik! Your day radiated love, laughter, and cherished memories. Honored to share this journey and craft magical moments. May your love story blossom endlessly. Cheers!
